My grandma showed me how much strength there can be in caring for others.
She gave her time, her energy and her heart to the people around her. She held the fort, helped raise our family and gave the selfless support that allowed so much of my grandad's work to happen. Her own work in the community was part of that shared commitment to making life better for others.
I want her story to have room for all of that: the love she gave, the responsibilities she carried, and the person she was in her own right. There is strength in sustaining a family, in showing up for people and in giving so much of yourself over the years.
That is what I carry with me: her care, her dedication, her ever expanding heart, her angelic soul, and her love for anyone and everyone. Her ability to understand young people and guide them in ways they could relate to. The freedom she gave her own inner child, and the way she encouraged others to let theirs be free too. Through her, I understand that love becomes something lasting through the things we do for one another. Her selflessness and the life she helped build are things I cherish and hold at the heart of who I aspire to be.

I MISS YOU AND STILL THINK OF YOU EVERYDAY. THANK YOU.
I FUCKING LOVE YOU!
